About Euro 2016 Fan-Zone

As you know, SOCAR was in partnership with UEFA EURO-2016 which took place in 10 French cities. This championship brought together countless football fans to celebrate the European football festival. We should note that, SOCAR made an original and unique contribution to UEFA  Europe-2016 under the slogan “Make your debut”. 

Bringing the European Championship closer to Azerbaijani fans, SOCAR has created the Fan Zone in Baku Olympic Stadium for the first time in Baku. And it was also SMG that has prepared and executed the project from a scratch, created a system of working mechanism and created a website for the zone on the social platforms. All the visuals, videos and media placement was created by SMG as well. 

At the same time, the people who gathered in the Fan Zone were offered two different concepts – the picnic zone and the pub zone. SMG was in charge of registering people in the zones; accommodating guests; creating spaces for people to watch the semi-final and final games in open air and in front of big screen for free; supporting the event through media and PR. 

The football screening was very popular among the residents of the city. The advertisement of the event garnered a lot of attention in both local media and among fans. Thousands of calls, emails and the stadium filled to the brim made the wind of European Football Festival blow in Baku. There were quite a few people who attended the live screening from the regions. 

The live football was not only watched by locals but also foreign guests, representatives of various embassies and employees of many companies operating in the capital. 

BOS became a home to close to 5000 fans in three days. Thousands of fans cheered the victory of their favorite teams or grieved their defeat together. 

Thousands of fans gathered in Fans zone were also surprised by interesting competitions. Guys who could juggle a football the most, those who could play bowling with their feet instead of their hands, etc. competed in “Sportster” stadiums. There were symbolic games between the fans of Germany and Portugal teams. It should be noted that, SMG came up with the idea of these matches and competitions and organized them. 

On July 10, the stars of MFL Euro- 2016 faced each other. The “star war” lasted for an hour in “Sportster” stadium. After the game, fans watched the Portugal- France match.

 Winners of the game received various prizes from SOCAR, SMG and “Sportster”. 

We should note that, SMG ensured the safety of fans during the first mass live screening of football in Baku and successfully implemented the project.

Region League

The Regional League is a tournament held by the AFFA among amateur teams since 2017. Following tasks has been done by Sport Marketing Group for the Regional League: general concept, visuals, management of social media accounts, preparation of logos for clubs, photo and video shooting and final match organization.


Baku Marathon 2018 - Win the wind!

On May 13, Baku Marathon–2018 took place following the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s initiative. Starting from the State Flag Square, the marathon covered a 21km long route, ending at the Baku Olympic Stadium. Held under the slogan “Win the Wind”, the Baku marathon is arranged for the third time, in a consecutive order. Some 18,000 people were registered for this year’s marathon. 


Kapaz PFC

Kapaz PFK (Azerbaijani: Kəpəz Peşəkar Futbol Klubu), is an Azerbaijani football club based in Ganja, that currently plays in the Azerbaijan Premier League. 


Ganja Marathon 2017 - “Make history by your willpower”

Ganja Marathon-2017” takes place following the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s initiative. “Ganja Marathon-2017” was organized with support from the Regional Development Public Association (RDPA) of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, and the Ganja City Executive Authority. “Azercell Telecom” was an exclusive partner of the marathon. Implementation of the project was conducted by Sport Marketing Group (SMG) Company.


The Baku 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games

The 4th Islamic Solidarity Games was a multinational, multi-sport event that was held in Baku, Azerbaijan from 12 to 22 May 2017.  Baku 2017 is aimed at strengthening ties between the 57 members of the Organisation of the Islamic Cooperation, “the collective voice of the Muslim world.” The Games feature over 5,000 athletes from 50 participating countries competing in 20 sports. 


Baku Marathon 2017 - Win the wind!

The “Baku Marathon-2017”, held on April 30 with the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s initiative, was remembered by its mass character and interesting moments.  Held for the second time, the “Baku Marathon-2017” has been organized with support from the Seaside Boulevard Department and the Baku Olympic Stadium, and implemented by “Sport Marketing Group” (SMG).


Baku Marathon 2016 – Win the wind!

Baku Marathon - 2016 took place on May 1 under the slogan of “Win the wind”,  by the initiative of Heydar Aliyev Foundation. This wonderful sport event – held for the first time in Azerbaijan - was organized by Sport Marketing Group.


UEFA U-17 European Cup Azerbaijan-2016
