MFL - Mini Football League

18 Dec 2016

About MFL (Mini Football League) Project

One of the most important and large-scale projects of SMG is Mini Football League which carried the street football from playgrounds onto stadiums.

What’s MFL? Various people from different neighborhoods, districts, workplaces and companies of Baku got together. They put together a team for MFL EURO 2016 Cup which was proposed by  “MFL” and whose co-founder  and organizational manager was SMG. These people who once were and still are the fans of the stars of the stadium, became stars themselves in a short time. The champion of the MFL Euro 2016, was sent to Lyon, France for a week to watch the semi-finals of UEFA Euro-2016. We should note that all expenses – travel, accommodation, food, match tickets and so on were covered by the MFL.

MFL - the organizer of the championship gave the winning team the opportunity to not only play, but also the most valuable gift for football fans and amateur players - the opportunity to watch live and support the players, team they loved and rooted for. And of course, SMG played a crucial role in all of this. Because organizing events of different format both on the stadium and the social networks to create an interactive communication with the team, fans, media as well as viewers on the online platforms, constantly keeping them interested is one of the services SMG does for MFL.

Taking into account the popularity of the first championship cup, “Mini Football League” invited the local fans to stadiums once again. The second championship was called “MFL San Marino Cup”.  The MFL sent the winner of the amateur championship to San Marino to watch the Azerbaijan and San Marino match. We should mention that the final match was watched by AFFA general secretary Elkhan Mammadov, players of the national team and media representatives. Inviting media representatives, players of the national squad, AFFA officials to the final, creating special zones for them, organizing the award ceremony, preparing special tables for the guests and other things were carried out by SMG.

Sport Marketing Group still continues to work with MFL. After two successful tournaments, the company started a year-long full-length league for amateur footballers. Coming from all corners of the country, 42 teams will compete in 2 conferences.

In this large-scale football tournament there will be friendly matches with foreign teams; competitions where they can win prize; meetings with local and foreign football stars. And the strongest teams in each conference will win various prizes. The winner of the competition will receive AZN 10.000. The winner of the “MFL Cup” will also win a ticket to attend the championship among amateur teams held in Barcelona.
